I don’t remember looking forward TO A GIG LIKE THE JEFF BRIDGES ACL TAPING last night in a long time. Man, I was giddy, Texting quotes from THE BIG LEWBOWSKI to friends all week. If I have your number, I am sure you got one this past week. And Facebook was also filled with quotes. The day and time arrived and we rolled to ACL  LIVE AT THE MOODY THEATER. I just love this venue. This is where they do the show tapings now. I  alwaze love going  to tapings, even if the music doesn’t float my boat, just being there is and has alwaze been a great experience. The show’s staff is   filled with so many  familiar faces. It really feels like a family there. This is really badass that the family  feeling came to the new venue. Awesome.

Jeff took the stage and ripped effortlessly through a number  of tunes. Bad Blake’s  guitar strap   made  an appearance. Music is important to   Mr. Bridges and he answers this calling  with rapture. He was so happy to be  here  with his touring band. There was a peddle steel player that also donned some wicked squeeze boxes  throughout the night. The band played many songs twice because this was a taping, so they could do them better if wanted, and they did. He was just glowing and laughing, which set the room off with him. He talked  about his love for this town and showered Stephen Bruton with  respect. I was a fan and friend of Stephen’s, so  this just made me feel good. Normally, I do not seek out country gigs aside from Willie, But I   dug  this show. I am very grateful to ACL for giving the Austin Daze love. This was so cool. He  played about 2 hours and  then did  an  encore to a standing ovation. And  then  came  the second  encore which was  THE MAN  IN ME   by  Bob Dylan from The Big Lewbowki soundtrack. We all sang along! I  am still  smiling…….
